What are ceramic coatings?
Ceramic coatings are not like waxes or sealants & yes, there are ceramic infused waxes and sealants; however, ceramic coatings are more durable and can last from one year upwards.
Most Ceramic coatings are made of SiO2 also known as silica (silicon dioxide). Silica is also found in materials such as glass, sand and quartz.
It comes in a liquid form, however once applied to a surface it bonds to the surface and once cured it becomes a hard layer that adds gloss and creates a waterproof layer on your vehicle.
What do ceramic coatings do?
Ceramic coatings preserve & protect the paintwork (glass, trim and alloys) of your vehicle from chemical damage, environmental contamination (such as harmful UV-rays, bird droppings and tree sap).
Ceramic coatings can also resist light scratches and swirl marks as well as keeping your vehicle cleaner for longer.
